Face Yoga Article Example
Most faces do not look tired because of age alone. They look tired because the jaw stays clenched, the brow stays slightly lifted all day, and the neck never quite lets go. Face Yoga does not promise a new face overnight. It gives the small muscles of the face a chance to release, just as the rest of the body does after a stretch.

This evening ritual takes about ten minutes. You can do it at the sink, in bed, or sitting at the table after dinner. Use clean hands, a little facial oil or cream if your skin likes it, and stop if anything feels sharp or strained.

Why evening is the best time
During the day the masseter (the chewing muscle at the angle of the jaw) and the muscles around the mouth work almost constantly: talking, swallowing, holding the phone, holding an expression. At night they often keep working in sleep. A short practice before bed tells the nervous system that the day is over. Many people notice less teeth grinding and a softer look around the mouth the next morning.
The ritual
Sit tall. Let the shoulders drop. Breathe in through the nose and out through the mouth three times. Then move through the five steps below. Stay with each one for about one to two minutes.
Jaw release
Place the pads of your fingers on the fleshy part of the cheeks, just in front of the ears. Open the mouth a little. Make slow circles, then glide down toward the corners of the mouth. If you find a tender spot, stay and breathe. Do not press into the joint itself.
Mouth and smile lines
Form a soft “O” with the lips, as if cooling soup. Hold, then relax. Repeat eight times. Then place two fingers at the corners of the mouth and draw them slightly outward while you smile with the eyes, not with the teeth. This trains the cheeks to lift without etching a hard line beside the nose.
Forehead and frown
Place three fingers of each hand above the brows. Look down with the eyes while the fingers keep the skin still. Hold for five breaths. Then stroke from the center of the forehead out toward the temples, as if smoothing a crease from fabric.
Eyes and temples
With ring fingers, tap lightly from the inner corner of the eye along the orbital bone to the temple. Then rest the palms over closed eyes for three breaths. This is especially useful if you spent the day on a screen.
Neck and finish
Tilt the head slightly back. Stroke the neck from the jawline down to the collarbones. Finish with both hands resting on the heart or the lower belly for three slow breaths. The face should feel warm, not tired.

What you can realistically expect
After one session: a quieter jaw, a little more color, and the feeling that the face is no longer “on duty.” After two to four weeks of almost daily practice: less morning tightness, a softer resting expression, and often fewer tension headaches. Deeper lines do not vanish. They can look less fixed because the muscles underneath stop holding the same grimace all day.
Face Yoga is not a replacement for medical care. If you have TMJ pain, recent dental work, facial surgery, or a skin condition that flares with massage, ask your practitioner first. Skip any step that increases pain.
A small habit that sticks
Pair this ritual with something you already do: cleansing, herbal tea, or plugging in your phone to charge. Ten honest minutes, most evenings, will do more than a long session once a month.
Your face does not need more effort. It needs a regular invitation to rest.
Thanks,
Have a wonderful day !!
